Women in Mobile: Bosses of the Industry

International Women’s Day is just around the corner and, for the 2nd year, Liftoff is celebrating by recognizing the achievements of women in mobile all throughout the month of March.

For all you history buffs, the first “Women’s Day” was organized by the Socialist Party of America back in February 28, 1909. It quickly evolved into an International Women’s Day in memory of working women, celebrated on March 8th. In 1917 it  became a national holiday in Soviet Russia. The day was predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted by the feminist movement in about 1967, followed by the United Nations in 1975 (thank you Wikipedia).

Each week throughout March, we will feature in-depth interviews with inspiring women as part of our Women in Mobile: Bosses of the Industry series. Then on Friday, March 20th, in partnership with General Assembly, we are hosting a breakfast panel in San Francisco with several women in mobile, where they will talk about the challenges and successes throughout their career.
